World of Coca‑Cola Kicks off Summer with Refreshing Exhibit, Activities and Offers
ATLANTA, May 26, 2016 – For anyone looking to experience the best of summertime fun in Atlanta, the World of Coca‑Cola is the destination for creating memorable moments with family and friends. From start to finish, a visit to the World of Coca‑Cola is filled with delicious, refreshing and shareable experiences.
Immediately upon entering, guests are welcomed to the attraction with a complimentary, ice-cold Coca‑Cola. From there they can drink in the culture and interact with the world’s most exciting beverage brand in ways they’ve never done before.
New for the summer, the exhibit Effervescence: Coca‑Cola in Pop Art gives guests a chance to see how Coca‑Cola bubbled up from a beverage to a pop culture icon in contemporary art. This latest installation in the Pop Culture Gallery features works by well-known artists such as Andy Warhol, James Rosenquist and Elena Zolotnitsky.
“The Pop Art Movement, which got its start in the U.S. and Britain in the 1950s and 60s, really challenged what people thought of as ‘fine art,’” said Russell Jacobs, General Manager of Retail and Attractions at The Coca‑Cola Company. “Our new exhibit at World of Coca‑Cola is all about embracing pop culture, advertising and mass media as ‘art.’ We’re highlighting the playful, optimistic Pop Art style that is still inspiring new generations of artists today.”
Guests can become artists themselves when they design their very own contour bottle art through the interactive experience “My Coke Art” in the Pop Culture Gallery. Photography is also encouraged throughout, especially when guests meet the iconic Coca‑Cola Polar Bear – he’s always in the mood for a bear hug and a selfie. Fans can share their photos on social media with #worldofcocacola or upload them to www.worldofCoca‑Cola.com/moments for a chance to be featured on the World of Coca‑Cola website.
A fan favorite that doesn’t disappoint is the Taste It! Beverage Lounge, with more than 100 different beverages available for sampling and savoring from around the world. With unprecedented options, guests can enjoy their Coke-of-choice, discover a new favorite they didn’t even know existed, create a custom mix using Coca‑Cola Freestyle and sip on limited-edition products at the sampling bar.
Outside the attraction, there’s another chance this summer to enjoy the “pop” and “fizz” associated with the delicious taste of Coca‑Cola. Atlanta locals and visitors alike are invited to grab a front row seat in Pemberton Place to watch the epic firework display that’s part of Centennial Olympic Park’s 4th of July Celebration in downtown Atlanta.
Finally, for people who thirst for deals, World of Coca‑Cola also has some sweet summer offers:
An integral part of downtown Atlanta’s fabric for more than 30 years, World of Coca‑Cola has welcomed guests from six continents, more than 100 countries, all 50 U.S. states, and the District of Columbia.
